Thank You from JEFF WISZNIEWSKI...............

I have just been asked to post this on the forum:

Councillor Jeff Wiszniewski and his team at the Office for the Urbanisations would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who brought in toys and food for this year’s campaign to make Christmas a happier one for the needy of San Fulgencio.

We were astounded by the response and were able to give every child a mountain of presents and every family a huge box of food. Special thanks go out to the lady who knitted a gift for every child in the municipality as well as providing many other gifts for the families. Another huge thanks must go go to Eugene and Dave from Posh Palace who provided a box of fresh vegetables and fruit for each family.

It has been a hard time for many people but the kindness of the residents of San Fulgencio means that this Christmas has been an extra special one for those who are struggling the most.

Please remember that we support these families all year to the best of our ability and so do bring in food whenever you are able.

Once more a huge thanks from Jeff and his team and we wish you a very Happy New Year.

La Marina

Jeff Wiszniewski / Carol in Spain

Firstly I would like to say come on Jeff, things can't be that bad that you cannot sign in and post your gratitude yourself, what you and your staff did on this occassion was something that needs praise and adulation, not a time to hide behind a woman's skirt, however big it is. I will not stop reminding you to get our infrastucture in Oasis sorted out at no cost to the residents, but when praise is warranted, then I will give it.
Please come on and thank the people who donated to your cause in person, I am sure 99% of the people will appreciate the gesture.
Well Done Jeff and his team

WHOOPS!!!

Commented Carol in La Marina 2013-01-04 23:54:36 UTC

Robert/Carol,
Is it not a total disgrace that our recently elected councilor who promised to look after the interests of other Europeans other than Spanish on this urb has now turned into a charitable organisation and what is worse he is getting adulations for this.
Should not he and his fellow councilors make monies available from "the coffers" to look after the lesser advantaged?
Why he asks you Carol to do his "press work" is a mystery to me, perhaps he is sitting in his office planning a rock concert or some other activity that does not improve the lives of we who live in this ghost town, La Marina Urb?

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-01-05 11:05:37 UTC

Friendlyviking:
It is NOT a disgrace to help others who are less fortunate whether they be Spanish whose Country we are guests in,or any other Nationality, especially in these hard times.
I personally have a few issues with Jeff and this Council as I had with the previous administration, mainly to do with broken promises, which I hope soon will be rectified.
Is there monies available from " the coffers " ? or are the concerts and Fiestas subsidised by Alicante or even Valencia. I don't know, but what I do know is that we should all pull together at the moment.
I am assuming proberbly incorrectly that you are Norweigian from your Forum user name and like me are a guest of Spain and the Spanish people, if so we should not only respect their way of life but try to help the less fortunate than ourselves, and stay "friendly".

Commented Robert in La Marina 2013-01-05 11:36:32 UTC

Friendlyviking - I do not have any problem whatsoever posting anything that is sent to me by Jeff's office. Does it really matter so long as it is posted and seen?

Commented Carol in La Marina 2013-01-05 12:06:00 UTC

Yes Robert you are right in part, but as long as I am aware the cost of the rock concert and indeed the fiesta, were not paid for by Alicante or Valencia,as I believe they never agreed the payment,i guess they were paid for by the Local Residents, for more info read the La Marina Info, and see what the councillors in opposition say

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-01-05 12:40:43 UTC

Robert,
It is not my job to support the needy!
I voted for Jeff to represent my ideals not to be a charitable organisation!
Whether I come from Norway or Timbuktoo is irrelevant!
If Jeff devoted more time to Council Business, looking after the people he promised to represent, looking after the needy with council support he would begin to fulfill some of the promises he gave when we were stupid enough to elect him?

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-01-05 18:42:26 UTC

Friendlyviking ?
any other suggestions ?

Commented Robert in La Marina 2013-01-05 19:28:16 UTC

Brian,
I would strongly suggest you edit your post adding " in my opinion" before your last sentence, or you could be leaving yourself open to possible litigation.

Commented Robert in La Marina 2013-01-06 08:57:24 UTC

Why the totally mistaken comment that we " Are guests in Spain".

We are here by right and not as guests.

Spain would be in a damn great big hole if not for the Europeans who reside here and spend their money to the advantage of the country!

Commented Peter Horsfield in La Marina 2013-01-06 10:23:53 UTC

I will edit not anything as I am stating the truth. This councillor Wisznieski has lied to me not just on one occasion, but on four different occasions on different subjects. During our most recent conversation I asked him who is responsible for animal welfare in San Fulgencio, his answer was that he is not sure of the names of the people!

Commented Brian in La Marina 2013-01-06 12:34:29 UTC

Peter
Are you Spanish ?

Brian
Your choice

Commented Robert in La Marina 2013-01-06 12:55:10 UTC

Good God Robert! Look at my photo! Do I look Spanish?
No Robert 100% English and I along with other residents from England have kept this country going with our money and the money paid by the British government to the health service here. Although I have had no need to avail myself yet.
We have lived here over ten years and are both legal residents in all respects

Commented Peter Horsfield in La Marina 2013-01-06 16:21:48 UTC

Good on you Peter,I have lived here for six years, and I am English and always will be.I do not owe anything to Spain, because i am a resident here.I owe that to the European Community, which allows for free movement between people who belong to a European community country Indeed i pay more tax in Spain than I would do in England,I will continue to do this, while it suits my Wife and Myelf,We do not owe Spain anything, they have done very well out of community coffers,It was in no way my fault that they chose to waste most it.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-01-06 16:31:37 UTC

Firstly Peter, you have a picture of two people on your profile, are you the one in White?
Secondly as you say you are 100% English therefore you are NOT Spanish and you are living in Spain, and have lived here over ten years and are both legal residents in all respects. Great. But at the end of the day you are a foreigner living in a foreign Country, so you are a guest in their Country.
I am really pleased that you have not had to avail yourself of the Health service here and may your good fortune continue, there is nothing worse than illness, especially at our age.
Now go on tell me you still a teenager ( at least in heart).

Commented Robert in La Marina 2013-01-06 17:32:32 UTC

Alan,
I wholeheartly agree with your comments about the way the Spanish have wasted most of the monies doled out to the Country, also the corruption so prevelent, if only the monies collected was used for the purpose intended, everyone would benefit, this goes for Jolly old Blighty as well.

Commented Robert in La Marina 2013-01-06 17:40:15 UTC

Peter,
I stand shoulder to shoulder with you on these remarks!

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-01-06 20:06:38 UTC

Robert I think you ought to wake up and smell the coffee! You outlook on life is about thirty years out of date.

Foreigners indeed, I didn't realise you were so racist! The corruption here is rife and needs to be stopped but can anyone trust a politician either before they are elected or on the hustings? I don't think so.
I think you should also read the concise oxford dictionary which defines guest as one who received hospitality, entertainment or other treat from a person, government or establishment. I have received nothing. Every thing I have in Spain has been paid by my wife and myself by working for the last 45 years and saving the proceeds of our lives.

I also think you need your eyes testing if you cannot differentiate between a photo of my wife and myself.

My thanks go to Friendly Viking and Alan for backing me up. If other people wish to add their names it may show the dissent I think should be shown to Robert.

Peter,
Foreigners indeed, I didn't realise you were so racist.
Where on earth did this come from?
How has racialism got into this subject?

With regards an entry on the forum for La Marina, a contributor who calls himself Brian, wrote that I was a liar and a cheat. As I have now taken legal advice on this matter, I have been informed that I need to give you the opportunity to edit and withdraw this comment from public view. It was also suggested that you should censure the person who submitted this post. can anyone out there do this ?

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-01-08 12:42:40 UTC

Let the gossip/allegations/ fight begin thus livening up this forum! and getting a debate going that the bored moaners can get there teeth into BRING IT ON !

PS not bored just like playing devils advocate

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-01-08 12:48:51 UTC

You are right 2nd casa it has to be proven that he is not a liar, before a forum or its admin can be involved, who ever has been giving out information related to this matter is wrong.
And of course the time it would take and the money to do this would be a waste of both.

Commented Team ASL "A Spanish Life" in La Marina 2013-01-08 13:15:43 UTC

I'm assuming that Spanish libel law is similar to UK. If that's the case, all Jeff has to prove is the allegation was made (easy enough). Its up to the accuser/publisher to prove that he was a liar (difficult) especially as the example given of him being unsure of the name of the person responsible for animal welfare is not a lie, he may have not known it at the time.
For the record, I do not live in La Marina, have never met Jeff but sometimes think he gets a hell of a lot of stick.
